When it comes to the high stakes world of business, it can be exhausting work. It can be demanding work that leaves you without a lot of time and energy, but it often pays well. This creates an interesting dilemma in which you may find yourself making certain sacrifices based on a lack of time or energy but having extra income. In such cases, you shouldn’t feel ashamed to let that extra income work for you. Here are some suggestions.

First and foremost, let’s talk about fitness. As with any desk job, business jobs contribute to the already staggering surplus of sitting in the modern world, and, yet, when we punch the clock at the end of the day, we’re in no mood to do anything about it. So, what can we do? We have a few options. For one thing, desk jobs are improved ten fold by the presence of a standing desk. Leaning desks, as well as convertible standing and sitting desk hybrids are even better. This way, you can get in some standing while on the job which can not only improve your health without taking away from your job but will even improve your performance. At home, however, there is another way to improve fitness. You’ll want to find a quick workout you can do from home every night, and you’ll want to stick to it. The seven minute workout is a great example, though it can be incredibly demanding. So, get into your Under Armour before your nightly shower and feel the burn before bed.

Another thing to take into consideration is diet. If you’re either unmarried or your spouse works, you may find yourself depending heavily on convenience foods like frozen foods and fast foods. These food items are convenient, but that convenience comes at a cost. They’re chock full of additives that rob them of nutritional value, so you’re much better off eating home cooked meals made with fresh ingredients. Instead, use some of your extra income to hire some extra help around the house to cook for you. This will improve your diet and, therefore, your health.
